The VII International Boxing Tournament among girls for the prize of Olympic champion and Honored Master of Sports Ermakhan Ibraimov has ended in Almaty. Ten athletes from Karaganda region participated, five of whom returned with medals.
More than 270 athletes from Mongolia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and 19 regions of Kazakhstan took part in the tournament.
The honor of Karaganda region was defended by ten girls aged 15–18.
Two of them - sisters Ayaulym and Kamila Ospanova from Shakhtinsk - won gold medals in the 63 kg and 70 kg categories. Alina Kudaigenova from Karaganda won silver medals in the 60 kg and 80 kg categories, respectively. Third place went to Aizhan Murat from Karaganda, who performed in the 48 kg category.
- The tournament went well for us. The girls showed decent results despite significant competition, - noted Aigul Baimanova, General Manager for Personnel and General Affairs of the Karaganda Regional Boxing Federation.
Now our athletes are preparing for several important competitions at once - the international boxing championship in Latvia, the championships of Kazakhstan and Asia.
