The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is consistently developing new opportunities and routes for oil transportation to increase the profitability of export operations and strengthen the country's energy security.
As part of expanding energy cooperation with European countries and diversifying export routes, the issue of supplying Kazakh oil to Hungary is being worked out.
Today, the technical feasibility of transportation from the Kazakh side has been confirmed, which lays the foundation for further steps. Negotiations on commercial terms are a complex and multi-stage process that requires careful study, so the next stage will be the discussion of the main commercial terms between KazMunayGas JSC (KMG) and the Hungarian company MOL Group, including issues of supply volumes, pricing and transit conditions. The trial deliveries of oil are considered a tool for assessing the long-term prospects of cooperation.
The exact terms and conditions of regular deliveries will be determined after the negotiations are completed and the relevant documents are signed.
Recall that on February 17, in Astana, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev and the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Péter Szijjártó discussed the current state and development prospects of cooperation in the energy sector, including the supply of Kazakh oil.
