This year in Astana, 389 debtors who did not pay their debts were brought to justice. Azamat Ainabekov, Deputy head of the capital's Department of Justice, told about the work on debt collection in favor of the state and bringing debtors to justice at a briefing in the Communications Service, the official website of the city akimat reports.
According to the speaker, the Justice Department pays special attention not only to debt collection, but also to creating conditions for citizens so that they can fulfill their obligations.
In 2024, the agency initiated 962 enforcement proceedings in the amount of over 151 billion tenge. Of these, 528 cases were successfully completed, and according to 308 executive documents, debts were fully recovered for a total amount of 43.8 billion tenge.
"Currently, bailiffs have 438 cases in the amount of 33.7 billion tenge. Of these, 132 cases are at the stage of monthly debt deduction from debtors' salaries. In 38 cases, execution was suspended due to the announcement of the debtors on the wanted list. Non-fulfillment of executive documents is considered as a serious violation of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which may entail administrative liability," Azamat Ainabekov said.
So, since the beginning of this year, 408 administrative protocols have been drawn up, of which 389 debtors have been brought to justice. The most frequently applied sanctions include fines ranging from 5 to 40 monthly calculation indices (MCI), which affected 345 debtors, as well as administrative arrest for a period of 2 to 5 days, which was applied to 44 debtors.
In addition, bailiffs have the right to draw up administrative protocols on a number of articles of the Code of Administrative Offences.
"To increase the efficiency of debt collection, the Astana City Department of Justice is implementing an integrated approach. As part of this approach, joint raids are conducted with the participation of the Police Department and private bailiffs, during which debtors are given notices and warnings about the consequences of non-fulfillment of obligations. In addition, job fairs are organized monthly for unemployed debtors in order to help citizens find a job and start paying off debts. Information about the fairs is published on the official website of the Department," the speaker added.
