KazAID: School construction in Türkiye enters the final stage

Nurdağı, Gaziantep Province, Türkiye — Kazakhstan Agency of International Development «KazAID» reports significant progress in the construction of a school initiated by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as part of Kazakhstan’s support to the people of Türkiye following the devastating 2023 earthquakes.

The school is designed for 960 students and includes 32 primary classrooms and 4 preschool classes. To date, more than half of the construction work has been completed: the concrete framework has been erected, walls and internal partitions have been built, while façade works and installation of engineering networks are ongoing.

The operator of the school construction is KazAID. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 19 December 2024 in Nurdağı, Türkiye. The commissioning of the facility is scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

Once completed, the school will allow students to begin classes immediately, without waiting for the start of a new academic year.

This project highlights the spirit of friendship and mutual support between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, as well as the strategic role of KazAID as an operator and coordinator of international humanitarian assistance.
