On October 13, the Central Library named after S. Seifullin in the Zhetysu Region hosted the regional competition “Сайын салған сырлы әлем”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of Sain Muratbekov, an outstanding writer, member of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, and laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Sain Muratbekov’s works hold a special place in the hearts of readers thanks to their lyrical narrative style and profound, authentic portrayal of the human soul. Such works as “Жусан иісі”, “Жабайы алма” and “Анамның арманы” have become an important part of Kazakhstan’s literary heritage. The competition was organised in two stages with the aim of promoting the writer’s rich literary legacy and fostering a greater interest in fiction among the younger generation.

The first stage of the competition was dedicated to the work “Анамның арманы”. Participants were asked to continue a given excerpt from the writer’s story in their own words. They demonstrated their skills in expressive reading, intonation, stage presence and the ability to convey the meaning and emotional depth of the literary work.

The second stage, entitled “Оқырманның жүрек қылын дәл басқан Сайын…”, focused on the novellas “Жабайы алма” and “Жусан иісі”. Participants answered questions about these works, demonstrating their in-depth understanding of the writer’s literary legacy, their literary knowledge and broad outlook.

The participants’ performances and knowledge were assessed by a qualified jury comprising representatives of the literary and cultural sectors, led by Maira Muratbekkyzy, the writer’s sister. The jury members impartially evaluated the contestants’ performances and selected the best participants.

According to the results of the competition, Aizere Kurmangazy from Panfilov District took first place, Sanzhar Nurlanuly from Aksu District secured second place, and Aisultan Otarbay from Koksu District won third place. The participants who achieved outstanding results were recognised as winners and prize-winners and received awards in recognition of their achievements.

The regional competition “Сайын салған сырлы әлем” proved to be a meaningful literary event aimed at introducing the younger generation to the rich heritage of Kazakh literature, highlighting the power of the written word, and promoting national spiritual values through the works of this outstanding writer.
