A flower-laying ceremony was held in Almaty at the monument "Tauelsizdik tany" in memory of the victims of the December 1986 events.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy akim of the city Azamat Kaldybekov, participants of the December events, representatives of public organizations.
After laying flowers, the participants observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims. Representatives of the clergy read a memorial prayer.
On December 16, a solemn laying of flowers at the Independence Monument took place.
