Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhaev held a meeting with residents of Semey. The key achievements of the region and current projects were highlighted at the meeting. A personal reception of citizens was also held, where residents received answers to their questions.
"Semey is a witness to many historical events, the spiritual and cultural center of our country. As you know, special attention is being paid to the development of our beloved city. Residential buildings and social facilities have been put into operation. Positive changes have taken place in all areas, and socio-economic development has begun to move steadily forward. Of course, you, dear fellow countrymen, will give an assessment of all this! Our goal is to improve the quality of life of the population and create a comfortable living environment. Work in this direction continues. The most important thing is to unite and, without departing from the principle of "harmony and unity", make the most of the opportunities provided," said the governor of the region.
Stable growth has been observed in all major sectors of the region over the current year. Thus, in the construction sector, the indicator increased by 22.8%, in the transport sector – by 6.4%, and in the communications sector – by 15.8%. The volume of attracted investments amounted to 471.6 billion tenge. Of this amount, the share of the city of Semey accounts for 154.2 billion tenge.
Special attention is paid to solving housing issues. For 11 months of this year, 306.9 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in the region, which is 107.7% more than last year. The majority of this volume – 74.8% – is accounted for by the city of Semey. 15 loan and individual residential buildings with a total area of 57.7 thousand square meters are under construction, which will provide housing for 832 families.
This year, 911 apartments worth KZT 12.2 billion were purchased to support various segments of the population. Additionally, it is planned to purchase another 115 apartments in the amount of 4 billion tenge.
Work to provide the population with clean drinking water continues. By 2026, 46 projects worth 20.6 billion tenge are planned to be implemented in the region, of which 33 projects are being implemented this year. 4 water supply facilities were put into operation in the regional center, due to which the level of clean water supply reached 91.4%. Additional measures are needed to achieve 100%.
This year, as part of 28 projects worth 18.5 billion tenge, 27.5 km of heating networks were replaced and work on 17 heat sources was completed. Thanks to these measures, the wear of heating networks decreased from 64.2% to 59.7%. Additionally, work is underway on the construction of a new TPP-3, which will provide the right-bank part of the city with the necessary amount of thermal energy.
15.1 billion tenge was allocated to improve the transport and logistics infrastructure. This year, 241 km of roads have been repaired in the region. The reconstruction of the highway bridge in Semey is underway, the cost of which is 47.3 billion tenge.
The general plan for the development of the city of Semey, developed in digital format, has already been approved. 5.6 billion tenge was allocated for the improvement of the regional center. This year, 62 courtyards and 4 public spaces have been restored, including the children's railway on the island of Beibitshilik. In the near future, the reconstruction of the water park at the expense of private investments is planned.
