In 2023, Kazakhstani companies QVM Technology LLP, Ordabasy Group and Yervira, together with the Georgian Olive Georgia company, signed an agreement on experimental planting of olive tree seedlings in the Zhetysu, Turkestan and Mangistau regions.
The first 6080 seedlings were planted. Previously, 99.7% of seedlings demonstrated a good survival rate. The harvest is planned to be harvested in 5 years.
In the spring of 2024, seedlings from Spain and Turkey were planted.
By the end of 2025, Kazakhstani companies plan to plant olive tree seedlings on an area of 1,000 hectares.
The project provides scientific support for the project: under the guidance of Professor Pablo Morello of the Spanish University of Cordoba, soil, climatic and meteorological data will be collected and analyzed.
QVM Technology LLP plans to launch an olive processing and olive oil production plant by 2030.
