Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev spoke about the development of the urban education infrastructure at an on-site briefing in the CCS.
This year, 18 educational facilities have been built in Almaty, which will provide 11.7 thousand student places. Thanks to these measures, by the next academic year, the deficit will be reduced to a "manageable" level – 3-4 thousand places.
The introduction of the "Almaty Schools" standard has become an important part of the development of education. As part of this project, transportation of public school students has been organized. In 2024, the number of school buses was increased to 200 units, which made it possible to reach 15.3 thousand schoolchildren. Next year, the number of buses will be increased by another 100 units, which will provide even more students with safe and convenient transportation to educational institutions.
The Mayor noted that the development of the educational infrastructure is aimed at providing affordable and high-quality conditions for obtaining knowledge.
In general, Almaty is actively working to achieve a manageable shortage of student places through the construction of new schools and extensions at the expense of the local budget.
