Smart City is one of the main directions of ensuring the sustainable development of the metropolis. This was announced by the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, at an on-site briefing at the CCS in Almaty.
In 2022, for the first time in Kazakhstan, the Unified Video Monitoring System of Almaty was launched. As of today, 50,000 video cameras are connected to it.
In 2024, a comprehensive security system was launched in all state preschool institutions (191) and schools (215), as well as 64 medical institutions.
