The Government is increasing cooperation with the civil sector through project cooperation.
Today, NGOs are a key partner in the implementation of socially significant initiatives.
More than 2,000 joint social projects with NGOs are implemented annually across the country. There is a positive trend of their growth. Compared to last year, the dynamics shows that the volume of NHS social projects increased by 41%, grant projects – by 33%.
Projects in such areas as: support for socially vulnerable segments of the population - 726 projects, support for youth policy and children's initiatives - 290 projects, strengthening social harmony and national unity – 232 projects, achieving goals in the field of education, science, information, physical culture and sports – 140 projects, protection of citizens' health – 100 projects.
These projects make a significant contribution to the development of education, an inclusive society, and the potential of youth and have significant results. Eg:
More than 500 jobs have been created as part of the implemented grant projects.
Thanks to 670 small grants, active citizens and small organizations have the opportunity to implement their initiatives.
More than 100,000 people took part in the training events, and about 2,000 NGOs received methodological and advisory assistance.
Over 20,000 volunteers have been trained to provide assistance to various categories of the population.
More than 1.2 million people, including 15,000 people with special needs, have received social assistance.
More than 120 people with disabilities have been provided with employment assistance.
NGOs have intensified the participation of 4,405 rural residents in the management of their territories.
36 new initiative groups and NGOs have been created to address various issues of the local community.
At the same time, one of the main innovations of 2024 was the implementation of 5 strategic projects. They are aimed at developing civil society, supporting volunteer activities and promoting literary creativity.
As part of the projects for the implementation of the strategic partnership, the activities of the Center for the Development of Civil Society and the National Volunteer Front Office have been organized.
The peculiarity of such projects lies in their scale and strategic importance. They are created not only to solve current problems, but also to form a stable base that will work for the long term.
Also, in order to provide institutional support for NGO activities, since 2017, the Ministry has introduced a mechanism for stimulating NGOs in the form of a Bonus.
The NGO Award is a monetary reward awarded at the expense of budgetary funds of NGOs for their contribution to solving social problems at the national, sectoral and regional levels.
Over the years, 486 NGOs have won the award (2017 – 59 NGOs, 2018 – 63 NGOs, 2019 – 63 NGOs, 2020 – 38 NGOs, 2021 – 64 NGOs, 2022 – 54 NGOs, 2023 – 79 NGOs, 2024 – 66 NGOs).
This year, 146 applications from all regions of the country have been received for the Award, 66 organizations have become winners. Their projects demonstrate the targeted contribution of NGOs to solving various issues.
Thus, encouraging and motivating NGOs not only helps to stimulate the work of NGOs, but also to improve the lives of thousands of people through the formation of an active and socially responsible society.
It is worth noting that the support of civil society remains the most important priority of the state social policy. The implementation of large-scale programs, increased funding and support for citizens' initiatives make it possible not only to improve the quality of life of the population, but also to strengthen civil society institutions, developing their potential and role in solving social issues.
