A regular meeting of the commission on combating terrorism was held in the Akimat of the Turkestan region. The meeting was attended by Akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy, members of the regional commission on combating terrorism, heads of relevant bodies and departments, as well as akims of districts and cities.
According to the commission's work plan, the effectiveness of the work of theologians involved in rehabilitation, issues related to religious attributes, as well as the problems of involving young people in destructive religious movements via the Internet and possible solutions to these issues were discussed on the agenda. The results of the commission's work for 9 months of 2024 were summed up, reports and comments were heard, and instructions were given to the heads and akims.
At the end of the meeting, issues of improving the information space, strengthening parental responsibility and promoting national values were discussed.
It should be noted that this year, 3 meetings of the commission and 21 meetings of the working group under the office of the commission were held under the chairmanship of the akim of the region. During the meetings, important issues were considered and appropriate recommendations were made.
Due to the complication of the situation in the field of counter-terrorism in Kazakhstan, Presidential Decree No. 589 dated June 24, 2013 "On approval of the approximate regulations on counter-terrorism commissions" is in force. The Commission under the Akimat of the Turkestan region performs an advisory function.
