Five more inclusion classrooms for special children opened in Astana

The grand opening of the inclusion support office at Gymnasium No. 65 took place in the capital, the official website of the Astana Akimat reports.
The project was implemented by Samruk-Kazyna JSC jointly with the Akimat of Astana. It is aimed at creating comfortable learning conditions for children in need of a special approach.
The event was attended by Deputy Akim of Astana Yeset Bayken, representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, the Department of Education, principals of the capital's schools, teachers and parents of special children.
"As part of the corporate social responsibility of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, we comprehensively support people with special needs. We are opening rehabilitation centers in the regions of Kazakhstan, sports complexes and adaptive sports sections. We train young people with disabilities in digital professions and promote employment. We provide assistance to people from birth and actively contribute to their socialization in society. Inclusion classrooms are an important part of this system," said Nurlan Zhakupov, Head of Samruk—Kazyna JSC, at the opening of the office.
The office is designed in the open space format and includes areas for the work of a speech pathologist, speech therapist, psychologist and a pottery workshop. In addition, a physical therapy room is equipped with the necessary sports equipment and equipment. Thus, five new classrooms were officially opened in Astana — in schools No. 32, 52, 61, 65 and 90. 240 children will be able to attend these inclusion classrooms.
"Inclusion support rooms create a comfortable environment for children with special educational needs, including students with mental and speech delays, as well as communication difficulties. We continue to expand the network of these offices. With each new classroom, we are getting closer and expanding the boundaries of an inclusive educational environment where every child has equal opportunities for development," she stressed

In September, classrooms of the new format were launched for the first time in five metropolitan schools № 22, 36, 59, 76 and 97. In total, about 16% of children with special needs of school age living in Astana will attend inclusion classrooms. In total, there are 21,107 children with special needs in the capital.
