On November 7, 2024, a meeting of lawyers on the development of the National Partnership "stop tuberculosis in Kazakhstan" was held, organized by the National Research Center of phthisiopulmonology of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Department of health of the Turkestan region and the regional center of phthisiopulmonology. The goal is to develop the Stop National Partnership within the framework of the implementation of the roadmap for the development of phthisiatric and pulmonological services in the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2023-2025 and strengthen the reduction of the tuberculosis burden.
In general, the tuberculosis stop initiative was created in March 1998 after a meeting of the first selection committee against the tuberculosis epidemic in London. Kazakhstan officially joined this global movement in August 2017, when the Stop TB Kazakhstan partnership (STTP) was established.
At an important meeting, the importance of eliminating one of the problems of preserving the health of society as a whole in the Turkestan region was considered. Within the framework of this meeting, support options for programs to reduce the burden of tuberculosis in the region were discussed with those who make decisions on the allocation of the state social order from the local budget.

Yelshibay, "Department of coordination of employment and social programs of the Turkestan region", "Center for AIDS prevention and Control", "Center for mental health", Turkestan region heads and representatives of non-governmental organizations "Umit" of the Department of sanitary and epidemiological control of the ASC took part. In an online format, the heads of all regional phthisiopulmonology centers of Kazakhstan also took part and exchanged views.
"Within the framework of the event, a declaration was signed in Turkestan region dedicated to the opening of the representative office of the partnership" "stop tuberculosis""." As a result of a unanimous vote, the chairman of the Regional Partnership "stop tuberculosis" was elected.
The deputy akim of the region stressed the importance of this meeting.
- This is an important step in strengthening the fight against tuberculosis in our region. We can limit the spread of the disease by combining the efforts of various departments and the civil sector. All modern approaches to Tuberculosis Control proposed by the World Health Organization are also included in the Turkestan region. The akimat of Turkestan region will provide full support to the medical sector, " Beisenbay Tazhibayev said.
To date, the epidemiological situation on tuberculosis in Kazakhstan has stabilized, the incidence and mortality from tuberculosis are decreasing. This trend continues in the region, where the main incidence of tuberculosis decreased by 32.2 percent, from 36.0 in 2019 to 24.4 per 100 thousand people in 2023, and mortality decreased from 1.0 in 2019 to 0.4 or 60.0 percent in 2023. The indicators provided for the Prevention of tuberculosis have been met.
