Thirty-five Kazakhstani universities were included in the prestigious QS Asia University Rankings 2025, including three Karaganda universities.
This year, 985 universities participated in the QS Asia ranking (India, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Japan, South Korea, etc.). This is the largest number of participants in the entire history.
Karaganda University named after E. A. Buketov took the 167th place, rising by 39 positions compared to last year. Among the 35 Kazakhstani universities included in the Asian ranking, KarU is in the top ten.
It should be noted that the university also entered the top 50 universities in Asia in terms of outgoing student mobility. Improved indicators on the ratio of the number of teachers and students, reputation among employers and academic reputation, external academic mobility of students.
Karaganda Technical University named after Abylkas Saginov took the 264th place, among the universities of Central Asian countries it became the 14th (65 universities of Central Asia participated in total). And in the ranking of Kazakhstani universities, the polytechnic university has settled on the 10th line.
Karaganda Industrial University is in the range of positions 701-750.
QS Asia University Rankings is currently one of the most authoritative university rankings, and the university assessment system itself (indicators) is considered a globally recognized tool for assessing the quality of education.
QS evaluates universities according to criteria such as academic reputation and reputation among employers, the ratio of teachers to students, scientific publications and participation in international research.
