PARTICIPANTS OF THE WORKING GROUP IN ASTANA DISCUSSED ASPECTS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE UNIFIED HEALTHCARE PROJECT

Astana hosted the second meeting of the interdepartmental technical working group "Unified Health for a sustainable healthcare system in Kazakhstan", organized by the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control and the National Center for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as international organizations such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the World Health Organization, the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the United Nations The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other national and international partners.
The meeting discussed issues of coordination of intersectoral cooperation, identification, response, prevention of newly emerging and zoonotic diseases, as well as other health threats at the interface of humans, animals and the environment.
The National Center for Public Health, as the coordinator for Unified Health, initiated the development and consideration of the Roadmap for Unified Health (One Health) for 2025-2027, which includes the main components for strengthening laboratory and scientific potential, interdepartmental and international cooperation, community involvement in the prevention of global threats in the field of public health.
The Unified Health Project is a comprehensive, unifying approach aimed at achieving optimal levels of human, animal and ecosystem health and ensuring a sustainable balance between these three components. This approach, based on the close interdependence between these areas, is being used to develop new methods of disease surveillance and control.
