A team of gastroenterologists from the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Diseases of the Ministry of Health, Jamila Kaibullayeva, Isa Musatayev, and a young resident doctor, Aigerim Sarbayeva, were able to choose a comprehensive and intensive therapy that helped save the patient from a severe form of inflammatory bowel disease.
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, are among the most severe chronic, autoimmune diseases. Constant pain, frequent diarrhea, and general exhaustion are only a small part of the problems such patients face. But the stories of patients at the Research Institute of Cardiology and Internal Medicine prove that professional help can change everything.
To Juliet H. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis two years ago. She was worried about severe pain, fever every day, severe bleeding, and lost 15 kg. Against the background of the disease, rheumatoid arthritis developed, and joints ached.
A week after the start of therapy, Juliet's condition improved significantly, and the patient entered a phase of stable remission. Thanks to the right choice of therapy, she began to regain weight and returned to a normal life.
One of the key stages of treatment was the use of glucocorticosteroids. These drugs have proven effective in combating IBD exacerbations. Special attention was paid to the emotional state of the patients. The doctors explained each stage of the treatment to them, helping them set themselves up for recovery.
"My condition was terrible. I already thought it would be like this all the time: pain, weakness. And then in a couple of days I was put on my feet. I forgot about the sleepless nights and the whole nightmare. I wish all the doctors of the health clinic success in their difficult task," says Marina, the next patient.
"Our institute is the leading republican center for providing care to patients with gastrointestinal tract pathology. The availability of modern diagnostic technologies and a wide range of therapies allows patients to receive a full range of services. We strive to ensure that every patient receives high-quality care, as well as the support necessary to return to a full life," says Marat Pashimov, Chairman of the Board of the Research Institute.
