Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhaev held a meeting with veterans of the Afghan war, where he listened to their suggestions.
The veterans voiced a number of social issues that require attention. In particular, they asked to consider the possibility of providing benefits for travel on public transport, treatment in sanatoriums and assistance in obtaining housing.
In addition, the veterans asked for support in paying for utilities and repairing the monument in honor of the participants of the Afghan war.
"We are aware of your problems, and we never leave veterans without attention. But it is necessary to understand that all actions are carried out within the framework of legislation. Taking into account our resources, we will gradually resolve the issues you have raised together with you," the head of the region emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the veterans expressed their willingness to participate in the education of young people, support patriotic projects and actively participate in public life. Today, over 600 participants of the Afghan war live in the region.
