Karaganda athletes won bronze in the women's team race at the Kazakhstan Speed Skating Championships. Nadezhda Egorova, Irina Gutman and Evgenia Gabdulbarova showed good results.
The strongest athletes of the country competed at the competitions. 11 people from the Karaganda region were allowed to participate. The result was a bronze medal in the women's team race.
– There were very serious rivals. Athletes have good conditions in Astana and Almaty. Unfortunately, we don't have our own ice rink for training. We mostly prepare when we attend training camps. In any case, this is a good result. The girls also fulfilled the Master of sports standard," says Dmitry Lazarev, senior skating coach of the Karaganda region.
Earlier, the Kazakhstan Junior Speed Skating Championship was held. Karaganda residents won medals here too. Third place in the team sprint, where Pavel Manankov, Mikhail Brovko, Ivan Drozdov and Ivan Shiridzyanov competed. And also a bronze medal in the team race. Ivan Drozdov, Mikhail Brovko, Yerasyl Bakhtiyaruly, and Ivan Shiridzyanov scored.
In addition, Pavel Manankov from Karaganda won silver in the individual competition at a distance of 1,500 m and fulfilled the standard of the master of sports.
The skating season will continue in January. Ahead of the adult and youth championships of Kazakhstan, the final of the Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the sports contest among adults of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is held once every four years.
