Today, gas consumption in the city of Almaty and the Almaty region during peak periods is up to 800 thousand m3/hour, which is the maximum under the current scheme and condition of the gas pipeline in the southern region.
The growth of gas consumption in the region in the near future is expected to reach 2 million m3/hour, taking into account the gasification of the Almaty thermal power plants.
In order to provide the gas transportation infrastructure of the Almaty CHPP, design and estimate documentation is being developed for the construction of the TIP-04 bridge between the Kazakhstan-China and Almaty-Bayserke-Talgar main gas pipelines, the 2nd line of the Almaty-Bayserke-Talgar main gas pipeline, and the AGRS for CHPP-2 and CHPP-3.
"All the issues raised are under constant control of the Government," the minister concluded.
