A New Year's holiday was held in Turkestan today, organized on behalf of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy lit the lights on the festive tree and wished the children a Happy New Year.
– Today we are experiencing joyful and happy moments together on the eve of the New Year. The Presidential Christmas Tree is a day that opens the doors to the world of wonders and fairy tales. New Year is a holiday that gives wings to dreams and faith in a bright future. And you are our pride, those who will make this future bright. In the Turkestan region, special attention is paid to quality education and the development of children's abilities. In 2024, on behalf of the President, the construction of 29 modern schools will begin in the region, which will be transferred to the use of students. Last year, more than 40,000 schoolchildren had a rest in summer camps and visited cultural sites. Also, 520 students of our region participated in the republican Olympiads, and about 200 of them became prize-winners. These successes are the result of systematic support for education. We will continue to create comfortable conditions for you so that your days are full of happiness and your dreams come true. Happy New Year, dear children! – said Darkhan Satybaldy.
At the festive event, 200 children from socially vulnerable families, as well as winners of national and international Olympiads, received gifts on behalf of the President. They were awarded commemorative letters, sweets, backpacks for school supplies, books with Kazakh fairy tales, as well as cash prizes in the amount of 100 thousand tenge. Among the honorary participants was Gauhar Shaimerden, a schoolgirl from the city of Kentau, who had previously sent her savings to help flood victims in the western regions of the country, which delighted the public.
The holiday continued with performances by the heroes of Kazakh fairy tales, who delighted the children. The concert program included songs and dances, which left an unforgettable impression on the children.
On the eve of the holiday, 200 children visited the sights of Turkestan in one day. They spent time in entertainment centers and watched cartoons at the cinema.
