The list and volume of purchases of vital drugs and antiretroviral vaccines for Kazakhstani patients will be increased, the Ministry of Health reported.
Today, an agreement was reached during a visit to the UNICEF procurement center in Copenhagen (Denmark), where the 74th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe begins with the participation of the Minister of Health of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of drug provision, it is planned to expand the range of interaction with international organizations, including UNICEF.
During the visit, representatives of the Ministry of Health, with the support of UNICEF, discussed specific measures to expand the list and accessibility of purchased medicines for the population.
This partnership makes it possible to ensure the supply of drugs at the optimal time, achieve budget savings and increase patient coverage with necessary medicines.
As shown by last year's experience of working with an international organization, as a result of the purchase of medicines in 7 positions, it was possible to save about 1.67 billion tenge.
According to the results of the drug procurement campaign for 2025, along with the expansion of the list of medicines, financial savings are also expected.
As part of the development of further cooperation, the Ministry of Health will update the current memorandum with UNICEF on drug provision with an emphasis on improving the efficiency of planning, supply, delivery and distribution processes.
The UNICEF Drug procurement program ensures that medicines comply with international standards of quality, safety and efficacy.
