The Smart Glasses project, developed by 11th grade students of the Atyrau Lyceum "Bilim-innovation" Haidar Atagulla and Kairkhan Lukpanov, entered the top 100 best projects in the world. The project became the winner of the Jasscience 2024 competition and was included in the list of 100 Rise Global Winners 2024, one of the most prestigious programs in the world.
As a result, Haidar Atagullah, one of the authors of the project, received a unique opportunity to study for free at any university in the world.
"The glasses work on the basis of RikaAI artificial intelligence. It is an intuitive application that is activated by a simple tap of your finger. It provides the user with voice commands through headphones and allows them to interact with the device. We used a 3D printer to make the material, and ordered the camera, headphones and microphone separately," says Haidar Atagulla.
"Glasses perform four key functions. First, they can answer questions like ChatGPT or Wikipedia. Secondly, they scan and read the text. Thirdly, when moving, the glasses signal obstacles, which helps prevent falls and injuries in people with limited eyesight. Fourth, the glasses can describe what is happening in the room. In the future, we plan to expand the functionality of the device," adds Kairkhan Lukpanov.
The Ministry is proud of the achievements of young scientists and actively supports their efforts in promoting innovative technologies in the field of education and science.
