In Turkestan region, 25 thousand agricultural structures are engaged in cotton farming. In 2024, 106.4 thousand hectares were sown with cotton crops, which accounted for 12% of the total acreage.
In order to solve the problems that arose during the autumn meeting in a timely manner and conduct information and explanatory measures among commodity producers, akim of the region Darkhan Satybaldy created a special Working Group and took the situation under constant control.
Deputy akim of the region Nurbol Turashbekov met with farmers of Zhetysai and Maktaaral districts and held a collegial meeting.
Head of the Department of Agriculture Nurbek Badyrakov, noting that most of the funds under the state support are directed to the development of cotton farming, presented a report on the work done on the programs.
Representatives of cotton factories and farmers discussed the issues of kurmeli and made proposals. Answering questions related to the systematization of the work of cotton receiving stations, sorting and evaluation of cotton, the introduction of water-saving technologies, Nurbol Turashbekov:
- We need to make efforts to improve the quality of cotton, so that the price does not fall. Your recommendations are reasonable, you need to focus on the seeds of cotton to be sown. I would like to note that the initiatives taken by the akimat in this direction are primarily in the interests of farms, " he said.
Currently, the akimat has created a special Mobile Working Group with the consent of the heads of cotton processing plants and public organizations, as well as with the participation of activists of public organizations. In September, a mobile group was monitored, and laboratories and scales at Cotton receiving points of cotton processing plants were fully certified.
