On the eve of the New Year, the Chess Player's House was opened in Shymkent for veterans and pensioners. Earlier, during a personal reception and field meetings, the townspeople repeatedly appealed to the mayor of the city, Gabit Syzdykbekov, with a request to provide a special place for playing chess. Taking into account the wishes of the residents, the head of the megacity gave a number of specific instructions to the city administration for the development of a comfortable urban environment.
Today, a new modern building for chess enthusiasts was opened in the Al-Farabi district on the territory of the Central Park. The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of the city, local residents and media representatives.
There are 20 chess tables in the room, where 40 people can play chess at the same time. At the same time, it also provides all the conditions for the elderly to spend their time and leisure usefully. The building is equipped with a heating system and connected to a centralized sewage system. It should be noted that this project was implemented at the expense of sponsors within the framework of business social responsibility.
