The length of highways of regional significance in the territory of Turkestan region is 3983.34 kilometers. Of these, 1943.3 km are roads cleared of primary snow and sprinkled with inert materials, 434 km are areas of increased danger of snow drifts in mountainous areas.
The state Enterprise "Ontustik Zholdary" is fully ready for the winter maintenance of highways of regional significance. A total of 118 units of special equipment and 258 workers are involved in cleaning roads of regional significance from snow. 4,187.61 m3 of sand and 393 tons of salt were produced from the necessary inert materials for timely cleaning of highways from snow and preventing ice. In order to create conditions for passengers stuck on regional roads in adverse weather conditions, the points "Shynykbel", "Odamanbulak" and "Ashchysai", "Taskugulsai" in the Sozak district are operating in the Baidibek district. In addition, since November of this year, specialists of the State Enterprise "Ontustik Zholdary" have organized round-the-clock duty.
An action plan has been approved for emergency response to emergency rescue operations in case of emergencies on highways between the Department of Passenger Transport and Highways of the Turkestan region, the regional Department of Emergency Situations, the regional Department of Administrative Police and the Turkestan regional branch of JSC NC KazAvtoZhol.
