A new lawn was laid at the Sunkar stadium in Sarani under the renovation program of the ALA football fields. This update was a gift from the Kazakhstan Football Federation for the 70th anniversary of the city.
The first training session on the new field has already taken place. A master class for young football players was held by the project's ambassador, ex-captain of the national team Samat Smakov.
– We have submitted an application to the KFF to replace the football field in Sarani. Our application was confirmed by all authorities, and an Italian-quality field was built for us, which could only be dreamed of. About 300 children will play football here. Many thanks to the president of the KFF and the Mayor's Office of the city, who also made major repairs to the stadium. We will hold many different tournaments here, not only of urban, regional significance, but also of republican significance," said Nikolai Bublinsky, chairman of the Karaganda Regional Football Association.
The last time the reconstruction of the stadium, designed for 4,000 spectators, was carried out 15 years ago.
– I have been playing football since 2009, and my journey began in Sarani. I thank the Kazakhstan Football Federation for building a beautiful field in such a small city. It has not been like this for a long time, everything is of high quality. I want the ALA project to continue throughout Kazakhstan, so that children can train, play and try themselves on the international stage," says Anastasia Nizamutdinova, a player of the women's national football team.
The KFF project on the renovation of the ALA football fields with the support of UEFA is planned for 2023-2025 and is being implemented as part of the instruction of the Head of State on the development of mass sports. The goal is to improve the sports infrastructure and popularize football in the country.
12 fields have already been upgraded in Almaty, Shymkent, Aktobe, Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Ayagoz, Aksu, Balkhash, Zhezkazgan, Kyzylorda, Atbasar and the Zhetysu region. In total, it is planned to upgrade 20 football fields throughout Kazakhstan.
