Colonel Arman Abeuov, Chairman of the Sports Committee and head of CSKA, returned from the USA with a silver medal.
He was warmly welcomed by his family and colleagues at Astana International Airport.
– The competitions were held at a high level. I thank my colleagues for their support. The main thing for me is to motivate the younger generation of army athletes by my example. I am convinced that for an athlete, the moment when the flag of Kazakhstan is raised and our National Anthem is played is the best reward. Last year, at the Abu Dhabi World Cup, I took third place, and this year I took second place. I hope that next year I will return with a gold medal," A. Abeuov shared his plans.
Recall that 1,275 athletes from 69 countries competed in the Las Vegas World Championships veterans 2024 tournament. The competitions were held in seven weight and age categories over 35 years old and above.
Colonel Arman Abeuov competed in the weight category over 100 kg. On the way to the finals, he defeated athletes from Brazil, Portugal, the USA and Canada.
Last year's world champion from Brazil, Recardo Ferreiro, who won the gold medal, had a slight advantage in the decisive battle.
