Karaganda resident Alan Kurmangaliev won a silver medal at the WTT Youth Contender tournament in Szombathely (Hungary), reports Olympic.kz .
The athlete showed the second result in competitions among tennis players under the age of 19. He has seven wins and one loss to his credit.
Alan beat Stefan Dimitrov (Bulgaria) 3:0, Mael Van Dessel (Luxembourg) 3:0, Tai Po-Chun (Taipei) 3:2, Dragoj Bujor (Romania) 3:0, Mikhail Lovga (Slovakia) 3:2, Isak Alfredsson (Sweden) 3:0, Li Jeong Moka (Korea) 3:0.
In the final, he lost to Balazs Lay (Hungary) 0:3.
Earlier in the same tournament, Alan won bronze among athletes under 17 years of age.
