The Armed Forces are undergoing drill reviews of personnel who have switched to new models of winter field uniforms.
Recall that the need to switch to a single field uniform for military personnel was announced at the All-Army meeting in May 2023. After the release of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 12, 2023, the implementation of the task began.
As explained by the Deputy Chief of the Rear of the Armed Forces, Colonel Asset Orazalin, during a special period, other troops and military formations come under the command of the Armed Forces. Accordingly, the field uniform, which performs a masking function and takes into account the peculiarities of the climate and geographical features of the area, should also be unified.
The form of clothing underwent significant changes in 1999, 2006 and 2011. But the transition to a single style and coloring of military personnel of all law enforcement agencies has been carried out for the first time.
The decision in favor of MultiCam colors was made after studying the experience of other countries. It has excellent camouflage properties against the background of vegetation, urban buildings and ruins, in a desert and rocky area.
The new models of clothing are characterized by improved functionality and comfort. For example, a stand-up collar covers the neck in bad weather. For the convenience of storing pocket documents, the chest pockets are located at an angle and fastened with Velcro tape. Insignia are also attached to this tape and do not require sewing. An additional insert on the back does not restrict movement. A wide trouser belt fits better to the body, it also has devices for adjusting uniforms.
Drastic changes have been made to the winter clothing. The fabric has water-resistant, frost-resistant and windproof properties. Insulated trousers are made in the form of a semi-overalls. A knitted hat and a tube scarf made of fleece fabric are also provided.
At the request of the military, the demi-season raincoat, which was not used in practice, was replaced with a jacket. Instead of a casual sweater, a field sweater is provided. Based on the natural features, the color of summer boots with high boots has been changed from black to sandy. For military personnel of the governing bodies, high-top boots have been replaced with tactical sneakers.
The economic component of the innovation is also important. Its implementation is carried out only at the expense of the cost of the reduced uniforms. Optimization of supply standards has reduced the annual demand of troops by more than 140 million tenge.
At the same time, the stocks available in warehouses, including old-style field uniforms, will be used as working uniforms for conscripts, military personnel involved in annual training camps, and for paramilitary security personnel. This will allow saving more than 400 million tenge annually on the purchase of similar uniforms.
It should also be noted that military uniforms and uniforms are made within the framework of the state defense order exclusively at domestic enterprises.
