A meeting of the regional commission for social partnership and regulation of social and labor relations was held in the regional center. It was attended by representatives of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan, headed by Chairman Satybaldy Dauletalin, as well as heads of government agencies, employers and trade unions of Kostanay region.
Main issues on the agenda:
•Implementation of the Presidential Decree on the Year of Working Professions;
•Prevention of occupational injuries;
•Wage arrears and measures to eliminate them.
The development of working professions is a priority of state policy
One of the key areas was the discussion of the Year of Working Professions, announced by the President of Kazakhstan. The development of the vocational education system and the creation of modern conditions for the training of specialists is an important step towards strengthening the country's human resources potential. Government agencies, employers and trade unions should work closely together to achieve these objectives.
Safe working conditions and timely payment of wages are the key to stability
Another important issue of the meeting was ensuring safe working conditions and reducing occupational injuries. Representatives of the State Labor Inspectorate presented statistics on the situation in the region and measures taken to improve it.
Special attention was paid to the problem of wage arrears. As Akim of the region Kumar Aksakalov emphasized, this issue is under constant control. Employers are responsible for the timely payment of salaries, and government agencies continue to work systematically to eliminate arrears.
The role of trade unions in protecting workers' rights
The governor of the region noted that trade unions should operate in all labor collectives – a reliable tool for protecting workers' rights. Compliance with labor laws, decent pay and safe working conditions are the foundation of social stability.
"Trade unions are not only the protection of labor rights, but also a mechanism for dialogue between employers and employees. It is important that they are present in all organizations and enterprises, acting as a guarantor of social justice," Kumar Aksakalov emphasized.
Following the meeting of the commission, instructions were given to strengthen control over the labor rights of employees, develop the trade union movement and reduce wage arrears. The issues of protection of labor rights and social guarantees will remain among the key areas of work of the regional authorities.
