The opening ceremony of the Republican Open tennis tournament "Turkestan Open 12 & under" among children under 12 years of age was held in Turkestan. 64 athletes (32 boys, 32 girls) from the cities and regions of Astana, Almaty, Atyrau, Aktobe, Shymkent, Taldykorgan, Taraz, Kokshetau, Turkestan take part in the Republican Open Tournament of the first degree. They bet among themselves for five days.
This year, for the fourth time, the tournament is held in order to develop tennis, support young athletes.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Head of the Department of Physical Culture and sports of the Turkestan region Zhazira Musimova, who wished good luck to the athletes.
– Welcome to the Republican Open tournament "Turkestan Open 12 & under", which is about to start in the sacred Turkestan. As you know, the president of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his address "it is necessary to give priority to mass Sports, Physical Education and children. It is necessary to open sports clubs in each region, in large district centers." In this direction, significant things are being done in the sports sphere of the Turkestan region. At the opening ceremony of the Republican tennis tournament, the organizers presented a gift to the leading coach of Shymkent Sergey Ignatov for a significant contribution to the development of tennis.
In general, this competition is organized in singles and doubles. At the end of the competition, the winners and prize-winners will be awarded diplomas and medals.
It should be noted that today in the "Tennis Center" about 300 students are professionally engaged in three sports. Table tennis, big tennis and badmiton sports are developed here.
