The Karaganda Academic Theater of Musical Comedy is preparing a new production. Fans of the operetta will be able to get into the spirit of France. On December 13 and 14, the premiere evening of the one–act operettas "Ah, Offenbach!" will take place.
Jacques Offenbach is the founder and most prominent representative of French operetta and, according to critics, one of the greatest satirists in the history of music. The witty works of the classic still do not lose their popularity. The most famous of them are "Orpheus in Hell", "The Beautiful Elena", "Tales of Hoffmann", etc.
KATMK notes that they have chosen two operettas by Jacques Offenbach, which were almost never staged on other stages.
In the first section, the audience will be presented with the musical comedy "Tromb al-Kazar" (or "Robber Actors"). Offenbach wrote it in 1856. The plot is based on funny and difficult situations from the life of theater artists.
In the second part, the actors will perform a small operetta "The Song of Fortunio", written by Offenbach in 1861. The action takes place in the Fortunio garden in one of the French cities during the reign of Louis XIV.
Russian specialists were invited for the production. Directed by Nikolai Pokotylo (Moscow). The musical director and conductor is Andrey Alekseev (St. Petersburg).
