THE REPUBLICAN SEMINAR ON IMPROVING THE WORK OF FAMILY SUPPORT CENTERS HAS BEGUN IN TURKESTAN

A republican training seminar for employees of family support centers and mobile groups has started in the Turkestan region. It is held on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan from October 15 to December 13, 2024. A training seminar with the participation of representatives of Shymkent, Zhambyl and Turkestan regions is scheduled for November 12-15 in Turkestan.
The opening of the lecture was attended by Inkar Tursin, chief expert of the Department for the Coordination of Family Policy of the Committee for Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Culture and Information, and Kumis Mirova, Deputy head of the regional Department for the Coordination of Employment and Social Programs, who wished the participants good luck.
The purpose of the trainings is to increase the professional competence of employees to provide high—quality assistance to families in difficult situations through interdepartmental coordination. During the event, participants will learn how to create individual work plans with families, develop practical skills, as well as improve diagnosis, planning and monitoring of care. Theoretical and practical classes are planned. Professional development is conducted by the trainer and expert of the NGO "Qoldau" Farida Sagyndyk.
The seminar is attended by specialists from social protection, education, health and law enforcement agencies, as well as commissioners for children's rights, secretaries of commissions for minors, women and family policy, as well as heads and representatives of local mobile groups from three regions.
There are a total of 43 family support centers in Kazakhstan, four of them are located in the Turkestan region. Currently, family support centers providing services to the population have been opened in the districts of Zhetysai, Keles, Shardara and Sairam. Nine family support sectors have also been established under the district and city departments of employment and social programs.
The main activities of these centers are aimed at implementing measures of state family policy, coordinating work to support people (families) in difficult life situations, providing assistance to victims of domestic violence and organizing the work of mobile groups.
About 130 specialists work in the centers and sectors of the region. So far, assistance has been provided to more than 3,400 people. In the centers for the poor, mothers with many children and mothers of children with disabilities, consultations on health care, employment, social benefits, housing waiting lists, obtaining certificates, as well as legal and mediation consultations, financial and psychological support, various psychological and motivational trainings, training courses, assistance in starting a small business, obtaining grants, use of self-service corners and other activities.
