A competition for beginners and experienced developers was held in Karaganda, organized by the Terricon Valley startup ecosystem. For 48 hours, the participants worked on creating innovative technological solutions. The reward is a cash prize.
Hackantonists needed to develop projects for a system for searching and selecting candidates for vacancies.
80 teams from 230 participants took part in the competition. The competition was serious: 40 teams qualified for the finals. Each of them presented their decisions to the jury members.
– Each team presented its prototype locally. We evaluated the functionality, the use of artificial intelligence, the convenience of the user interface, and the design. Scaling and adaptability were also important. Points were awarded for each of the criteria. The extra point was for innovation. For example, Team No. 8 presented a unique case with an interview with artificial intelligence," said Diana Salekhova, managing partner of the "Terricon Valley".
The first place was taken by team No. 47 (Arman Sergazin and Rakhat Baltabekov), receiving the main prize – 500 thousand tenge.
– I am a geologist by education, but I have several specializations. Among them are a Fullstack developer, a mobile developer, a system administrator, and a project manager. This hackathon was already my 12th, and I won seven of them. My experience, discipline and the use of neural networks played a key role in the victory. For me, this is not only recognition, but also an opportunity to earn money, which means another step forward in my career," says Arman Sergazin.
The second place and the prize of 300 thousand tenge was won by team No. 8 (Yerasyl Bazarbayev, Alimzhan Zhorabek, Aizhas Serikov and Alinur Tolbayev).
The third place and 200 thousand tenge went to the team No. 74 (Ruslan Anasov Ruslan and Malik Abdulov).
Projects in the Audience Award category received separate awards. Teams No. 14 and 28 took 100 thousand tenge each.
The partners of the competition were Freedom Bank and Freedom Telecom.
The organizers and partners noted the high level of training of the participants and are confident in the potential of the best projects for business implementation. In this regard, an additional pitch has been announced for 15 finalist teams with the possibility of launching projects in pilot mode.
