The next stage of the large-scale gasification program of the city has been completed in Shymkent: natural gas has entered the homes of residents of Karatobe. This project has become an important milestone in the development of the megalopolis infrastructure and was implemented in 2024 by order of the Department of Energy and Infrastructure Development of the city of Shymkent. 61.937 million tenge was allocated for its implementation.
Previously, the population of Karatobe used liquefied gas, coal and firewood for heating and cooking, which was not only labor-intensive, but also expensive. With the arrival of natural gas in their homes, residents will significantly reduce heating costs, and the process of heating houses will become more convenient and safe. Now families can forget about the difficulties associated with the purchase and delivery of coal and firewood, as well as the constant efforts to keep warm in winter.
Residents of Karatobe: improvement of living conditions with the arrival of gas
The residents of the Karatobe settlement call the possibility of connecting to natural gas a real salvation.
"Previously, we were forced to use liquefied natural gas and coal, and this is both expensive and inconvenient. Natural gas is a real salvation for us. Now you don't have to run for coal or pay a lot of money for gas cylinders. This will greatly simplify our lives," said one of the residents of the settlement.
Her neighbor adds, "We finally got access to natural gas. Last year, when winter came, we spent most of the winter heating with firewood and coal. It was very laborious, and the costs only grew every day. Now everything will be much easier and, most importantly, cheaper."
Shymkent gasification: a step towards an environmentally friendly and comfortable city
The gasification of Karatobe is not only an improvement in the quality of life for residents of this area, but also part of a broader gasification program for the whole of Shymkent. In recent years, blue fuel has begun to flow into the homes of residents of different districts and suburbs of the metropolis, which significantly improves living conditions.
During a conversation with residents of Karatobe, Akim of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov stressed the importance of gasification for the city:
"Gasification of each residential area and microdistrict is not only a step towards improving the quality of life, but also a key condition for creating an environmentally friendly and comfortable urban environment. Gas helps to reduce the burden on nature by reducing the need for coal and firewood, as well as make living conditions more comfortable. Connecting gas is a priority task, and we will continue to work to ensure access to this important resource in every district of Shymkent," the mayor said.
Gabit Syzdykbekov paid special attention to safety when using gas. He stressed that compliance with all necessary rules for the operation of gas equipment is critically important to prevent emergencies and ensure safe living conditions for all citizens.
Gasification program: successes and plans for the future
The gasification of Karatobe is not the only step in a broader program aimed at improving urban infrastructure. Earlier, natural gas was supplied to the homes of residents of other settlements, such as Kaynarbulak and Bozaryk. Currently, work is continuing, and by the end of 2024 it is planned to complete the gasification of three more settlements: Bozaryk-2, Yntymak-2 and Tassai. Thus, by the end of the year, several remote areas will be provided with natural gas in Shymkent at once, which will make the use of gas available to more citizens. It is expected that in the coming years, gasification will cover all settlements of the city, providing stable access to natural gas for all residents of Shymkent.
It should be noted that since gasification is an important part of the national program for the development of the country's energy infrastructure, Shymkent not only actively supports this initiative, but also makes a significant contribution to improving the living conditions of citizens.
