Another agricultural fair was held in Semey. A large number of people gathered at the fair prepared by the farmers of the Makanshi district for city residents. The fair, which has been organized in the regional center since November last year, is aimed at stabilizing food prices.
Today's fair was attended by farmers from rural districts of the Makanshi district. The farmers brought products that are in great demand in the winter season for the city dwellers.
"Taking into account the demand of the Semey residents, we brought 7 cows, 5 heads of lamb with a total weight of 1.7 tons, 20 liters of natural milk without additives, 20 liters of sour cream, 20 kilograms of butter, 20 kilograms of cheese. We put up for sale 70 kilograms of beekeepers' honey. We are putting up 90 kilograms of Alakol fish and 50 kilograms of bakery products on the shelves," says the akim of the Makanchy district, Dauren Koygeldin.
In addition, 210 kilograms of carrots, 1,050 kilograms of potatoes, 260 kilograms of cabbage, and 180 kilograms of onions were sold at prices much lower than the market price.
The Makanchy residents seem to have turned the fair into a real holiday. A yurt was erected in the courtyard of the Severny trade and logistics center, and a table was laid for visitors to the fair. The youth of the district distributed hot tea and baursak to the fairgoers, and the concert program of the artists of the House of Culture entertained the residents of Semey.
According to the information of the Regional Department of Agriculture, such fairs will continue until the end of May.
