Today, February 7, the 2nd meeting of the Council of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation was held in Astana under the chairmanship of the Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva.

The meeting, which was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was attended by the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Aktoty Raimkulova, the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, as well as the Ministers of Culture of the organization's member states.

The Council meeting discussed strategic steps to preserve, study and promote the Turkic cultural heritage in accordance with the instructions of the heads of the Turkic states in the strategic document "The Future of the Turkic World - 2040".

Aida Balayeva noted that the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation is fulfilling an important mission of preserving the most valuable cultural and historical monuments.

“Today, the issue of preserving historical and cultural heritage is relevant for our countries. The condition of ancient monuments and artifacts is affected by time, climate change and, unfortunately, anthropogenic factors. Therefore, the need for qualified specialists in the field of conservation and restoration of such objects is growing now, ”said the minister.

Aida Balayeva also proposed implementing a project to train restorers in the city of Turkestan. The seminar will contribute to the exchange of experience between restorers from different countries and the implementation of joint projects.

In addition, she said that this year a team-building seminar on the topic “Botai and Turan - the foundations of the Turkic world” will be organized in order to revive various historical periods of the development of Turkic civilization.

At the meeting, Aktoty Raimkulova reported on the activities of the foundation in 2024. The action plan for 2025-2026 was also considered. The event was an important step in the development of cultural cooperation between Turkic countries. This meeting strengthened the relationship in the field of cultural heritage preservation and gave a new impetus to international projects.

In addition, within the framework of the council meeting, the opening ceremony of the international exhibition "Language is the source of goodness: Diwan Lugat al-Turk" was held at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The exhibition, opened on the occasion of the 950th anniversary of the encyclopedic dictionary "Diwan Lugat al-Turk", aims to present a unique treasure that has survived to this day, focusing on the civilization-building aspect of the Turks.

It should be noted that in 2025, the Republic of Kazakhstan will chair the Council of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
