The Ministry of Agriculture discussed the progress of livestock wintering

A meeting on the development of livestock and veterinary medicine was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the chairmanship of Vice Minister of Agriculture Amangali Berdalin.
The meeting was attended by heads of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee, the Department of Livestock of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and regional agricultural and veterinary departments.
The main topics of the meeting were the course of wintering in the regions, updating the Roadmap for the development of feed production, digitalization of veterinary medicine, and other issues.
“If wintering is properly organized, the implementation of the main indicators of livestock farming is ensured. In some regions, the natural and climatic conditions are unfavorable. "Our main task at this time is to prevent a decrease in livestock numbers," the vice minister said.
According to Baglan Aimyrzayev, Acting Director of the Department of Livestock, according to the akimats, all regions are fully provided with grass, silage, hay, straw and compound feed, and the remaining volume of fodder reserves is 65%. This is enough to ensure the safety of livestock.
The Chairman of the Veterinary Control and Supervision Committee, Kazbek Tashimov, reported on the implementation of new functional measures for the quarantine of agricultural animals and control over their export.
In 2024, more than 220 cattle burial grounds, veterinary and slaughterhouses were built in the regions, and 8 incinerators were purchased.
Currently, the “Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise” module is being implemented in a pilot mode in all regions and cities of republican significance, and will be launched in full at the end of March 2025.
Following the results of the meeting, Amangali Berdalin instructed local executive bodies to strengthen explanatory work with farms on organizing wintering and disease prevention, organizing the movement of horses from frozen areas to pastures accessible to forage in case of adverse weather conditions, as well as ensuring the implementation of indicative indicators of livestock farming and work within the framework of the Road Map to double the total output
