In accordance with the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, an important project aimed at the development of alternative energy is being implemented in the Khromtau district.
During a working visit to the district, the akim of Aktobe region Askhat Shakharov got acquainted with the construction progress of a wind power plant (TPP) and assessed the advantages of using renewable energy sources for the region.
The cost of the project is 74.2 billion tenge, the installed capacity is 150 MW. The full completion of construction is planned for this year. Currently, two wind generators with a capacity of 12.5 MW have been commissioned, which are among the most powerful wind installations in Kazakhstan. The first electricity generated was transmitted to the 35 kV power grid of the Don Mining and Processing Plant.
After the TPP reaches full capacity, it is expected to reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by more than 500 thousand tons per year. In addition, two more projects for the construction of wind power plants worth a total of 115 billion tenge are being implemented in the Khromtau district.
The regional akim noted that the implementation of this project will be an important step in ensuring the energy stability of the region and will contribute to the transition to more environmentally friendly sources of energy. According to him, the use of wind energy will not only reduce carbon dioxide, but also create new jobs, and also strengthen the regional economy, contributing to the development of "green" energy in Kazakhstan.
It should be noted that the volume of investments attracted to the district in 2024 amounted to 243 billion tenge, which is 27% of the total volume of investments in the region.
