This year's road construction season will see the start of construction and repair work on 13,000 kilometers of roads. In particular, 2,200 kilometers of roads will be built and reconstructed, and 6,600 kilometers of roads will be repaired with major and medium repairs. 4,200 kilometers of local roads are planned to be repaired.
Work will continue on the Kalbatau-Maikapchagay, Kurty-Kunayev, Kyzylorda-Zhezkazgan, and Uzynagash-Otar highways, with a total length of about 1,000 kilometers, whose construction has already begun.
In addition, it is planned to begin construction of the four-lane Aktobe-Ulgaisyn, Karaganda-Zhezkazgan, Atyrau-Dossor, and Saryagash bypass projects. Their total length will exceed 1,000 kilometers.
10,000 kilometers of roads will be repaired with medium repairs. This year, 6.6 thousand kilometers of it will be covered by work. This exceeds the previous year's figure (5 thousand kilometers of roads). Work will continue this year on major projects such as "Zhezkazgan - Petropavlovsk", "Karagandy - Ayagoz - Bugaz", "Kandyagash - Shalkar - Irgiz", where medium repair work began last year.
This year, medium repair work will also begin on 2.6 thousand kilometers of roads, including sections of the "Karabutak - Rudny - Kostanay", "Atyrau - Ural" and "Astana - Korgalzhyn" highways.
The development of local road infrastructure will also be a priority. It is planned to repair 4.2 thousand kilometers of local roads in the regions. Among them are the construction of the roads "Atyrau - Fort - Shevchenko", "Turkestan - Shauildir", "Chapay - Saikyn", as well as the bridge in the city of Semey.
