The Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan continues to work on expanding the geography of flights and increasing the share of foreign low-cost airlines in the country's air transportation market.
On February 5, the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan held a meeting with the management of the Indian low-cost airline "Indigo" with the participation of representatives of the Astana International Airport.
From May 14 of this year, the Indigo airline plans to open a new route on the Astana - Delhi route. Flights will be operated 3 times a week on A-320/321 aircraft. The opening of a direct flight between the capitals of Kazakhstan and India will contribute to the further development of cooperation between the countries and the development of the country's transit potential. In addition, as previously reported, the Kazakh airline "Air Astana" will open flights to India on the Almaty - Mumbai route on Airbus aircraft with a frequency of 3 times a week from April 20 of this year. In general, during the spring-summer navigation period, passenger flights between the countries are expected to increase to 24 flights per week on 5 air routes.
Currently, regular air services are operated on the routes Almaty - Delhi ("Air Astana" - 7 flights per week, "IndiGo" - 7 flights per week), Almaty - Goa (SCAT - 2), Astana - Goa (FlyArystan - 2).
