Today, the head of the region Yermek Kosherbayev arrived in the Markakol district on a working trip. Due to heavy snowfall this year, special attention is being paid to flood prevention measures. At the same time, the akim of the region got acquainted with the condition of the Orta-Terekty reservoir. Last year, an examination of its technical condition was carried out and it was stated that repair work was necessary.
The relevant work began during the favorable weather period. The base of the spillway has been concreted, and a grid has been laid at the bottom of the reservoir. The regional akim met with the local population and asked how the reservoir worked last year. Currently, there is no danger to residents. The main structures are operating normally. When the flood begins, specialists will be on duty.
It should be noted that this year it is planned to develop design and estimate documentation for the planned reconstruction of the Orta-Terektsy reservoir dam.
