During a meeting with residents of the Almaly district, Almaty Mayor Yerbolat Dossayev spoke about the ongoing work on the development of social infrastructure.
"We continue to actively work on improving the educational infrastructure, mainly through the construction of additional buildings for schools and the modernization of already built schools. As part of the national project "Cozy School", the construction of a new school for 1.5 thousand places is being completed at the intersection of Raiymbek Avenue and Auezov Street. The work will be completed in April. The school will open at the beginning of the new academic year," the Almaty Mayor noted.
In addition, in July 2024, an additional construction of school No. 58 with a capacity of 600 places began. The work is scheduled for completion in December of this year.
In July this year, an additional construction of school No. 16 with a capacity of 300 places will begin. The work is scheduled to be completed in the 1st quarter of 2026.
Also, a major overhaul of schools No. 134 and No. 135 with seismic reinforcement is planned. Work will begin in August 2025. In addition, design and estimate documentation is being developed for the reconstruction and seismic reinforcement of schools No. 124 and No. 128. The design is scheduled to be completed in September 2025.
Recall that in 2024, a major overhaul of the building of school No. 136 with seismic reinforcement was completed, and the renovated school opened its doors to students in September last year.
