The mayor of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov met with French entrepreneurs led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Sylvain Giogé. Leading French companies such as EDF, Veolia, AZ Syndicat, C3Medical, Dualest, SP ALMGT, Richel Group, and representatives of the France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFK) expressed interest in implementing a number of joint projects in Shymkent.
The mayor of the city thanked the French delegation for the interest shown in the metropolis and noted that the B2B and G2B meetings held within the framework of the business forum will give a new impetus to cooperation and open up new opportunities.
During the meeting, a Roadmap was signed aimed at strengthening cooperation and implementing joint projects for 2025–2028. The document provides for the development of cultural and educational exchange, the introduction of advanced French technologies in the fields of urban planning, agriculture and urban infrastructure, as well as increased cooperation in the fields of healthcare, science and education.
In addition, the agreement will contribute to the development of tourism. These include holding the Days of French Culture in Shymkent and the Days of Shymkent in France, as well as measures to improve the investment climate and expand business ties. The implementation of the roadmap will open up new opportunities for the city's residents and will be an important step towards its sustainable development.
It should be noted that in December last year, the akim of Shymkent held a meeting with the French Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Sylvain Giogé. As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached to organize a business forum with the participation of representatives of French and Shymkent companies.
