The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports on the results of applying the new rules for taxation of foreign Internet companies ("Google tax"), which came into effect in 2022 in accordance with Chapter 25 of the Tax Code.
Currently, 101 foreign companies are registered in Kazakhstan, including Huawei, Aliexpress, Google, Apple, Netflix and other international structures. Over the past 3 years, these companies have paid 75 billion tenge in taxes. Last year's amount was 35 billion tenge.
At the end of 2024, Temu, Pinduoduo and the Alibaba group of companies passed conditional registration.
Recall that this type of tax applies to foreign companies that provide goods and services to individuals in the Republic of Kazakhstan through e-commerce.
