As part of the implementation of the agreement between the Government and the World Organization for Animal Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Safety and Health has developed a plan for simulation exercises of the veterinary service for 2025.
In accordance with this plan, exercises to combat 18 outbreaks of particularly dangerous diseases are held throughout the year. Also, simulation exercises are planned for veterinary control during import, export and transit procedures at veterinary checkpoints in 16 regions of Kazakhstan.
In this regard, anthrax training exercises were held in the Turkestan region, in which 70 veterinary workers participated and more than 14 special transport units were used. During the exercises, issues of interdepartmental interaction of services, diagnostics, information, localization, elimination and prevention of infectious diseases were discussed. Also, the readiness of regional and district veterinary service departments to eliminate the consequences of an emergency was checked.
The participants of the exercises demonstrated field work skills, including marking the boundaries of an unfavorable point, conducting elimination measures in the outbreak, and implementing preventive measures in the risk zone.
In accordance with the recommendations of the World Organization for Animal Health, the readiness of the veterinary service to respond promptly in the event of an outbreak of anthrax was confirmed.
Such exercises will be held in all regions of Kazakhstan.
