The Chairman of the Emergency Situations Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Serik Zhunisbekov visited Amangeldy, Zhangeldy and Naurzym districts as part of his working trip to inspect flood preparedness and flood prevention measures.
12 settlements in Amangeldy district are at risk of flooding. Here, a bridge over the Qiba River has been repaired, the Bizhan dam has been restored, hydraulic engineering structures have been built in Amantogai village, dams have been strengthened, and embankment reinforcement work has been carried out. A 2,360 m long dam embankment has been built in Amangeldy village.
In Zhangeldy district, restoration work continues on dams destroyed by floods, including embankment reinforcement work in the Kostakta section (1.5 km), Tenteksai (1000 m) and Kolkamys (2700 m) villages. Repair work is underway on the Albarboget dam. Since the beginning of the year, 400 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the region.
15 houses are at risk of flooding in the Naurzym district. Serik Zhunisbekov got acquainted with the repair work on the bridge across the Damidinka River in the village of Damdy.
Blasting work is planned to prevent ice jams and meltwater from flowing out. The chairman of the committee also visited the fire stations in the villages of Torgai and Amangeldy and checked the readiness of the personnel.
Following the results of the visit, recommendations were made on additional strengthening of dams and embankments, timely snow removal and preventive measures.
