In 2024, the Internal Audit Department of the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation conducted inspections at 18 enterprises. Let us recall that last year, on the instructions of Minister Nurzhan Nurzhigitov, an inspection of the branches of "Kazsuchar" began. These works were aimed at combating the "shadow" water market.
According to the results of the inspection, more than 30 individuals and legal entities were brought to administrative responsibility, and several officials were brought to disciplinary responsibility.
For example, during the inspection of the branch of "Kazsuchar" in Zhambyl region, about 10 facts of illegal use of water resources and violations of the law were revealed when concluding contracts for the supply of irrigation water with farmers. According to the results of the audit, the head of the institution and the head of the Asa production zone were dismissed. In addition, the deputy director of the branch and the heads of the Korday, Baizak, and Merki production zones were brought to disciplinary responsibility in the form of strict reprimands.
In addition, it was revealed that previously dismissed employees of the Alatau branch of the Kazsuchar enterprise were involved in fraudulent acts.
"During the audit, it was revealed that the current legislation needs to be further improved to improve the quality of providing citizens with drinking and irrigation water. Materials on all violations were sent to law enforcement agencies. Also, recommendations and instructions were given to the competent structures and departments of the ministry," said Galymzhan Moldash, Director of the Internal Audit Department.
