A republican open boxing tournament among teenagers born in 2009-2010 dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the champion of the Sydney Olympics, Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order of "Barys" of the 1st degree, Bekzat Sattarkhanov, has started in Turkestan.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by the governor of Turkestan Azimbek Pazylbekuly, the first coach of Bekzat Sattarkhanov, Honored Citizen of Turkestan, Honored Coach Nurlan Zhumabayev and his mother Syrlygul Shoibekova, as well as sports fans and teenagers.
A special event was held at the opening of the tournament The National Anthem was performed to the accompaniment of the 6506th military orchestra of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a performance entitled "Faith and Victory" was presented. It depicted Bekzat's path in sports and the historic victory at the Olympics.
For the participants of the tournament, this competition is not just a competition, but a tribute to the spirit of champion Bekzat and an attempt to continue his path.
250 boxers from 15 regions of the country, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are participating in the competition in 14 weight categories. The final of the competition will be held on February 13 at the B. Sattarkhanov Sports Complex.
